Shatta Wale, Dr. Sid and D’Prince profiles unveiled

It’s barely twelve days to the much anticipated musical concert ‘Tigo Ghana Meets Naija’ slated to hit the Accra International Conference Centre.

Celebrating five years of Ghana Meets Naija concert, organizers of the concert – Empire entertainment and Tigo Ghana have put together three resilient acts from Ghana; Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale to battle out the Mavins crew from Nigeria.

Last week we brought you an in-depth profile of two of the great artistes that will be performing on the night. And today, we are again delving into the lives of three of the talented superstars who will be performing on the same night of the event.

From Ghana we introduce to you, the much talked about dancehall artiste SHATTA WALE…

Shatta Wale

Born CHARLES NII ARMAH MENSAH JNR, he is a Ghanaian born reggae-dancehall musician to Charles Mensah Snr and Mama Elsie. His greatest song hit in 2013, Dancehall king took the airwaves by surprise after he was hard heard of in the music industry for ten years.

Shatta Wale's musical revenue is mostly generated through hosting of shows which attracts more than 1000's of Ghanaian youths. He won Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Ghana Music Awards. Shatta Wale's hard work in 2014, got him nominated for the maiden and highly prestigious GN Bank Awards as the People’s Choice Male Musician of the year.

Dancehall Commando featuring Sarkodie, Party all night long featuring Jah Vinci, Wine ya waist featuring Davido and Korle Gonno are some of his hit tracks making waves locally and internationally.

From Nigeria, we introduce two of the Mavin Records; DR. SID and D’ Prince

Dr. SID

SIDNEY ONORIODE ESIRI commonly known as Dr. SID is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and dentist, who is originally from Delta-Sate but was raised in Lagos.

Dr SID started recording his first studio album as a solo artist under Mo' Hits Records with producer Don Jazzy. The first single of the album Turning Point was titled "Something About You” and was released in September 2009. He also performed at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Kenya as a member of the Mo' Hits Allstars alongside D'banj, Wande Coal and Kenyan artist STL.

Following a fall out of the partners at Mo' Hits Records, Dr SID has since signed on to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records. He also had three songs from his upcoming album featured on a Mavin Records compilation album titled: Solar Plexus.

D’Prince

Nigerian artiste CHARLES ENEBELI best known as D’Prince was born on the 23 of October. D’Prince is the younger brother of music mogul and CEO of Mavin records, Don Jazzy. D’prince was born to Nollywood actor Collins Enebeli and international business lady Patience Enebeli and was raised in Ajegunle, Lagos where he grew up with his three siblings.

D’Prince attended Kings College Lagos and decided to delve into music afterwards. He initially founded his own label called ‘Sagitarious productions’ until he got signed on to Don Jazzy’s Mo’Hits. D’Prince is known to be dating Cameroonian Inorie Fotso since 2011.

This year’s Tigo Ghana Meets Naija Concert is also supported by UniBank, Hennessy, Oak Plaza Hotel, Africa World Airlines, Best Western Hotel, Enovate and Euro Star limousines.
